A tubular heating coil embedded in an aluminium-alloy body by a forming process, giving uniform surface temperature, high thermal conductivity and protection against corrosion, vibration and impact. Cast band heaters can be built heat-only, cool-only, or heat/cool with liquid cooling (cast-in tubing) or air cooling (cast fins with a shroud), and are used for extruder barrel heating, blown film dies, curing bakelite/sandwich wood/fibreglass products, indirect oil heating, and hot-stamp/die heating.
